U.S. Quantitative Economist, Copper Jobs and Wages

Axyde Analytics, LLC is recruiting proposed key personnel for a contingent U.S. Department of Labor initiative connecting stronger labor conditions and operating evidence in Chile’s copper supply chain with measurable benefits for American employment, wages and industrial resilience. This position is contingent upon award, final agreement and required due diligence.

Location and commitment
United States; remote, with periodic travel. Anticipated 36-month period and approximately 20–25 percent level of effort.

Responsibilities
Design and execute the project’s quantitative U.S.-benefit analysis. Build transparent input-output or equivalent employment-impact models; estimate direct, indirect and induced U.S. jobs and wages; define counterfactuals and attribution boundaries; conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses; document datasets, assumptions and limitations; maintain reproducible code; and coordinate with the Chile-based Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer so field evidence supports defensible U.S. benefit estimates.

Must-have qualifications
• Graduate degree in economics, statistics, public policy or a closely related quantitative field.
• Demonstrated use of IMPLAN, BEA RIMS II or an equivalent input-output or employment-impact framework.
• Experience estimating direct, indirect and induced employment and wage effects.
• Experience with counterfactual design, attribution and sensitivity analysis.
• Ability to deliver reproducible analysis in Stata, R or Python.
• Experience with U.S. industry, trade, manufacturing, mining or supply-chain datasets.
• Current authorization to work in the United States without Axyde sponsorship for the proposed engagement.
• Availability for approximately 20–25 percent LOE.

Copper, critical-minerals or metals-sector experience is strongly preferred.

Compensation
Anticipated USD 55–100 per hour, subject to final scope, documented market reasonableness and award approval. No employment or payment is promised before award and written agreement.

Application
Complete the attached FOA-ILAB-26-30 screening application and provide a current résumé. Axyde is an equal opportunity employer and evaluates candidates without regard to citizenship; legal authorization for the actual place and form of work is required.
