LEAD AWS FEDERAL DATA-PLATFORM ARCHITECT

  • Midlothian, VA

<meta />

Axyde Analytics seeks a senior AWS architect to lead the design and implementation of a federal enterprise data, analytics, and AI platform. The work begins with proposal and technical-challenge support and may continue through transition and long-term operations following award.

The current technical baseline uses FedRAMP-authorized AWS managed services. The architect must preserve alignment between the submitted security baseline, demonstrated environment, Factor 3 production solution, and implemented platform.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end architecture for ingestion, storage, transformation, analytics, AI, identity, security, monitoring, and operations.

  • Translate the solicitation and PWS into an implementable AWS architecture.

  • Maintain fidelity to Axyde’s final approved Factor 1 service, model, and SBOM baseline.

  • Design for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured information.

  • Address JDBC, Oracle, Red Hat/Linux, APIs, public sources, files, forms, and Government-directed data connections.

  • Design scalable patterns for hundreds of interfaces, dashboards, forms, workflows, and data sources.

  • Define integration with DOE identity, SIEM, access-control, and security environments.

  • Identify architecture gaps, assumptions, dependencies, limitations, and Government-furnished prerequisites.

  • Produce architecture diagrams, service inventories, implementation plans, and technical narratives.

  • Lead technical rehearsals and support the live Government demonstration.

  • Guide the production transition, testing environment, operations, maintenance, and future expansion.

Required Experience

  • At least eight years of AWS architecture experience.

  • Hands-on expertise with Amazon Bedrock, Step Functions, S3, Glue, Athena, QuickSight/Quick Suite, IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch.

  • Experience designing secure data platforms for federal or regulated environments.

  • Strong knowledge of FedRAMP authorization boundaries and the AWS shared-responsibility model.

  • Experience with data integration, APIs, schema diversity, data quality, scaling, and enterprise identity.

  • Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to nontechnical executives and Government evaluators.

Architecture Constraint

No Lambda function, EC2/AMI, container, external SaaS, external model endpoint, third-party runtime, or unlisted AWS service may be introduced unless approved through Axyde’s architecture and change-control process and reconciled with the applicable security baseline.

Engagement

U.S. citizenship required. Remote within the United States with occasional travel. Immediate consulting availability is preferred. Continued work is contingent upon contract award.
