Process-Plant Materials Integrity & Containment Advisor — Pittsburgh

  • Pittsburgh, PA
  • Architecture/Engineering

ASSET-INTEGRITY PROBLEM
Critical-minerals facilities combine corrosive liquors, abrasive slurries, oxidants, elevated temperature, pressure and hazardous residues. Axyde Analytics seeks a Pittsburgh-anchored materials professional who can judge whether proposed metallurgy, equipment and containment will survive real operating conditions. Work is fully remote and project-based.

TECHNICAL SCOPE
The advisor may review corrosion mechanisms, materials selection, piping classes, tanks and liners, coatings, refractory/brick/rubber systems, welding and fabrication, inspection/NDE, corrosion allowance, leak detection, secondary containment, RBI and lifecycle maintenance. Assignments can span leaching, solvent extraction, ion exchange, precipitation, refining, waste treatment and reagent systems.

WHAT A STRONG RÉSUMÉ PROVES
• Advanced degree or professional engineering preparation in metallurgy, materials, mechanical, chemical or corrosion engineering.
• Normally 15+ years of relevant plant, EPC, owner or independent-review work.
• Specific process chemistry and design conditions, material choices, degradation/failure mechanisms, personal decisions and outcomes.
• Ability to challenge vendor/EPC assumptions and document independent acceptance criteria.

ENGAGEMENT CONDITIONS
This is a remote contract role contingent on award and assignment; no minimum workload is promised. Before proposal selection Axyde will confirm availability, résumé authorization, eligible status where required, possible Level 1/2 travel and OCI/outside-employment restrictions. No rate submission is needed now.
