Apply to 26-0080-001 | Education Research Team Leader — Ghana (Contingent)

Axyde Analytics, LLC is assembling a proposed Ghana consortium for an education baseline, digital infrastructure readiness assessment and AI user-needs study supporting Ghana’s Digital Education Pilot and AI Teacher Companion. We invite expressions of interest for a paid consultancy, contingent on contract award, funding and agreed terms. This is an assessment and planning assignment.

Location and timing

Primary duty station: Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana, with field missions. The programme covers the catchments of Accra College of Education (Accra), Al-Faruq College of Education (Wenchi), Foso College of Education (Assin Foso), Tamale College of Education (Tamale), Dambai College of Education (Dambai) and Wesley College of Education (Kumasi). The 60 participating basic schools have not yet been selected; precise school sites and individual travel schedules will be agreed.

Ghana-based availability is preferred. Any remote preparation or analysis must fit the stakeholder-engagement and fieldwork plan.

The overall assignment is 100 days; each consultant’s working days may be intermittent or part-time and will depend on the agreed workplan. Start dates will be negotiated. Fees, travel and delivery expenses must be agreed within the funded scope before engagement. The eventual contract may be with a Ghana consortium member; the contracting entity and terms will be confirmed before appointment. Applying does not create employment, exclusivity or an appointment with Axyde or UNICEF.

Your role

• Lead the integrated research methodology, stakeholder engagement, technical quality assurance and final assessment deliverables.
• Work with the MEL specialist to refine indicators, sampling and comparison approaches, survey and qualitative tools, and the baseline analysis plan.
• Guide educator digital/AI literacy and instructional-practice assessment alongside the EdTech, ICT and Ghana field specialists.
• Ensure ethical, safeguarding-sensitive fieldwork and gender-responsive, disability-inclusive research; work with the contracted institution on required approvals before relevant data collection.
• Turn findings into practical education and implementation recommendations, document limitations, and lead stakeholder validation and presentation.

Experience and qualifications

• An advanced university degree directly relevant to education research, evaluation, social research or a closely related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, including leadership of education-sector baseline studies, evaluations, assessments or research assignments.
• Strong mixed-methods and qualitative research design, ethical research practice and safeguarding-sensitive fieldwork.
• Demonstrated gender-responsive, disability-inclusive approaches and ability to translate user-centred evidence into practical recommendations.
• Evidence of personal technical leadership, clear reporting and stakeholder engagement; government and development-partner experience is preferred.

Fluency in English is required. Ghana education-sector experience, Ghanaian languages (particularly Asante Twi and Dagbani), and work in comparable multilingual, low-resource settings are assets. Qualified applicants of any nationality may apply, subject to the ability to undertake the agreed Ghana work.

How to apply

Tell us whether you authorize opportunity-specific inclusion of your CV in the proposal, subject to agreement on role and terms; this permission is not assumed from applying. Flag any employer restrictions or conflicting commitments. Share only samples or references you are authorized to disclose.
